Material: The leaves and roots of perennial grasses,
growing at the wooded hills and shaded locations in central and southern Europe, south-west Asia, Algeria, naturalized in the USA.
Application: pounded dried leaves 30 .. 200 mg
or the roots of 30 .. 120 mg taken orally or smoking.
Active substance: Atropine, skopolamin. The leaves contain up to 0.3 .. 05 per cent of alkaloids, the roots of 0.4 .. 0.7 per cent.
Effects: Hallucinogens, sleeping pills, antiholinergik.
Contraindications: extremely toxic. Even a small amount can be fatal. The roots contain apoatropin, even small dose that can be lethal, especially oral. Use is not recommended.
